Dealing with happy holiday goers and sharing the history of Key West

Being with my loving husband Scott, playing guitar and running.

Worked for Navy Exchange and MWR

The interaction with our guests.

What do you enjoy during your free time?
Trolley drivers get “free time”? Generally anything on, in or near the water.

What brought you to Key West?
I was a scuba instructor, and this was my first job offer.

How long have you been here?
11 years

What did you do prior to working at the trolley?
I was an X-ray, CF ultrasound tech for a V.A. Hospital.

What do you enjoy about being a conductor?
I enjoy showing Key West to people that have never been here, because there is no place in the world like it!

What do you enjoy during your free time?
Doing yoga, playing with my cats and games on the internet.

What brought you to Key West?
Semi-Retirement

How long have you been here?
2 ½ years

What did you do prior to working at the trolley?
Owned 1/3 interest in a company that made parts to the auto industry. I handled all sales and administration. 235 employees.

What do you enjoy about being a conductor?
I like meeting the customers-being your own boss while on tour. The instant gratification when you’ve done a good job.

What do you enjoy during your free time?
Golf, fishing and boating.

Originally the Navy. In September 2001, my wife and her family brought us back.

How long have you been here?
Almost a year.

What did you do prior to working at the trolley?
Sailed the seas in the greatest Navy in the world for 12 years.

What do you enjoy about being a conductor?
Meeting new people every day.

What do you enjoy during your free time?
Spending time with my wife and son, bowling and watching sports.

What brought you to Key West?
My stepfather was born in Key West. My mom and stepfather moved back to Key West in 1995, and my husband Ryan (who works for the Conch Train) and I followed.

How long have you been here?
Since 2002

What did you do prior to working at the trolley?
I was involved with theater for 26 years. I traveled in many shows when I was young. I have also worked in retail sales and hospice care.

What do you enjoy about being a conductor?
Getting to show guests where I live and tell them about the vast history that we have.

What do you enjoy during your free time?
Shopping, snorkeling, spending time with my family and spoiling my cat and dog.

8 ½ years. I came to Key West in 1999.

I was the Sales Manager for Great Events Catering - I designed & sold parties for a living.

What do you enjoy about being a conductor?
I love the fact that the majority of the folks I meet are here to enjoy themselves, plus I work with a great group of people.

A little bit of everywhere, however my hometown is in Michigan.

What brought you to Key West?
The military brought me here, but the scenery is what will keep me here.

How long have you been here?
Since July of 2007

What did you do prior to working at the trolley?
I was a Military Police Officer in the US Navy, and then a happy mother of my gorgeous daughter Madison.

What do you enjoy about being a conductor?
Interacting with all the lovely people from all over the world (and of course all the interesting characters I work with)

What do you enjoy during your free time?
I love anything that keeps me on my toes and outdoors! My favorite pastime however, is playing with the love of my life, Madison Jeanne.

Born in England, but raised in America.

What brought you to Key West?
Arrived in 1980 during my college years, and was amazed by the natural beauty of the Keys. Why not call it home? End of the road…end of the story.

How long have you been here?
A freshwater Conch, three times over, but now a seasonal resident. Winters in Key West, summers in Boston.

What did you to prior do working at the trolley?
Most of my early years in Key West were spent as a charter boat sailboat captain. Now I enjoy my “land yacht” about Key West.

What do you enjoy about being a conductor?
Giving tours in my two favorite cities. Boston in the summer and Key West in the winter.

What do you enjoy during your free time?
Sailing, poker & sleep.

What brought you to Key West?
After being here many times, and enjoying the easy going lifestyle of Key West, I decided to finally move here. The beautiful weather also contributed to that decision.

How long have you been here?
I have lived here 4 years.

What did you to prior to working at the trolley?
I was the president & creative director for my own retail design firm in Chicago for over 20 years.

What do you enjoy about being a conductor?
I love meeting new people each day, and being able to show them our beautiful island, while telling the right history of Key West.

What do you enjoy during your free time?
In my spare time I am a fine artist working in acrylics & watercolors. The tropical vegetation & scenery of Key West inspires my work.

Interfacing with the passengers & telling the story of Key West.

Computer work of many types. Swimming, running & spending time with family and friends.

Meeting people from all over the world & driving former President Jimmy Carter through our Presidential Gates.

I love interacting with people from different places, and being able to entertain them with interesting information.
